The Delta Rho Zeta chapter of Zeta Phi Beta Sorority Inc. held its 12th annual Health Fair July 13 at the First Missionary Baptist Church on Gordon Street. Senior women from churches in Kinston and surrounding areas were in attendance.

The program focused on “Dementia/Alzheimer’s” and “Alternative Living.” Its purpose was to provide health information centered around issues that are affecting today’s health.

Tamyra Jovel, director of Community Outreach for Alzheimer’s Greenville, presented information on dementia and Alzheimer’s disease. Kellye Wooten, supervisor for Adult Medicaid in Kinston’s Department of Social Services, spoke of alternate living for seniors. The information was received by attendees with relatives or friends who are experiencing or actually in these situations.

Each participant received a souvenir bag and certificate of participation.
