Lenoir County keeps on smiling

This week’s Lenoir County Smiles recipient, Eartha Mumford, wraps up the eighth year of the program designed to foster “good, friendly service with a Smile.”

A co-chairman of the Lincoln City Reunion, Mumford is the last of the weekly winners, chosen by recommendations from the community, to receive a small gift and be pictured in the Sunday edition of The Free Press. The contest began Memorial Day Weekend and concludes today.

“Thanks to everyone who called to make a recommendation for this honor,” said Lucy Marston, Lenoir County Tourism director. “Have a great winter and keep on smiling. We’ll be back in the spring.”

The program is sponsored by Lenoir County Tourism and The Free Press. For more information, contact Marston at the Kinston-Lenoir County Visitor’s and Information Center, 252-522-0004 or lenoircountytourism@suddenlinkmail.com.

The free seminar will be presented by Carol Southerland, an accomplished SAT tutor with more than 20 years of education experience. Registration is completely free of charge and on a first-come first-served basis, although high school seniors are given priority.

“We are very pleased to be able to offer this beneficial program to our local students,” said Agnes W.
