Mr. and Mrs. David S. Poythress of Kinston celebrated their 60th wedding anniversary Aug. 24, 2013, with a dinner given by their children — Connie Roethlinger and husband Paul, of Greensboro; Mary E. “Liz” Poythress of Kinston; David Poythress and wife Nancy, of Winston-Salem; and Scott Poythress and wife Robin, of Huntersville — at Ginger 108 in Kinston. The couple has four grandchildren.
Mrs. Poythress is the former Martha Eula Anderson of Buxton. She is a retired cosmetologist. Mr. Poythress is formerly of Bracey, Va. He is retired from the former F.W. Woolworth/Woolco Company.
They were married Sept. 5, 1953, in Chesterfield, S.C., by W.E. Redfearn, probate judge.
