Capital correspondence for week ending Sept. 4 — Veto Override Session   

HB392 — Arrest Warrants and Drug Screening for Public Assistance: Requires county departments of social services to verify whether an applicant for or recipient of temporary assistance to needy family benefits or food and nutrition services benefits is a fleeing felon or a probation or parole violator by interagency cooperation and information sharing and requiring drug screening and testing for certain applicants and recipients of Work First program assistance. Introduced by Rep. Dean Arp, R-Union.

Adopted 77-39 by the House and 34-10 by the Senate to override the governor's veto and become law

Senate Excused Absence: Don Davis
