September is National Library Card Sign-up Month, a time when libraries remind everyone that a library card is a valuable possession — and the Neuse Regional Library is holding a special month-long contest to celebrate. Any patron with a valid library card is eligible to enter, including those people who sign up for cards for the first time this month.
“We are having this special event to honor people who already have library cards, and to encourage people who do not have library cards to come in and sign up,” said Agnes Ho, Director of Libraries for the Neuse Regional Library System.
At the Kinston-Lenoir County Public Library and all other libraries in the Neuse Regional Library System in Lenoir, Greene and Jones Counties, any patron who checks out library materials during September may enter their name in the drawing. On Oct. 1, 20 names will be drawn in Lenoir County, five in Greene County, and five in Jones County. Each winner will be awarded a $20 gift certificate from Walmart.
The winners will be notified and do not need to be present at the drawing to claim their prizes. For more information, call the Kinston-Lenoir County Public Library at 252-527-7066 or contact any of the other libraries in the Neuse Regional Library System.
Friends of the Kinston-Lenoir County Public Library and Friends of the Greene County Public Library are sponsoring the contest.
