A man shot twice early Friday wasn’t able to name the person or people who shot him.
Officers with the Kinston Department of Public Safety responded to a report of a man shot near the 902 building of the Simon Bright Apartments at 12:36 a.m., finding the victim at the scene.
“He appeared to be shot once in the back and once in the lower abdomen,” KDPS spokesman Woody Spencer said. “The victim stated than an unknown victim shot him, but he was unable to get any suspect information or location of where he was shot. We found a bloody tank-top belonging to the victim on the front porch steps of that apartment.”
The 22-year-old victim, whose residence was listed as being on Old Snow Hill Road, was transported to Lenoir Memorial Hospital before going for further treatment at Vidant Medical Center in Greenville.
The case remains under investigation.
