Living Well Down East has new hours, opening now on Sundays and earlier on the weekdays.
“We started opening at 8 o’clock Monday through Friday and 1 to 5 on Sundays,” Owner Judy B. Johnson said.
Next week, the shop will have all the fixings for Thanksgiving dinner, including a limited number of natural and organic whole turkeys and turkey breasts, fresh cranberries, stuffing, gravy, local produce and herbs and other seasonings.
Other available meats include lamb chops, chicken sausage, wild sockeye salmon and beef from Nooherooka Natural in Greene County.
“We just got a new shipment of local honey,” Johnson said.
The store also carries an expanded section of environmentally-safe cleaning products.
“Just in time for the holidays we’ve expanded our wine and beer selections” she said.
Living Well has gluten-free beer and hard cider, which is an organic, alcoholic apple drink.
It also has new organic, sustainable wines and a small section of North Carolina wines.
“We also have a wonderful display of wine accessories,” Johnson said.
Items for home use or gift-giving, include bottle stoppers, decorative cork keepers, matching napkins and wine gift bags, corkscrews and beer cozies, which keep beer cold and come with a can opener.
There is also a wine tasting and trivia game for adult parties, vertical slow juicer and mincer and decorative filter-less humidifier with built-in night light and aromatherapy.
The health and beauty products are also increasing, including the hand washes that come in gingerbread, sugared mint and frosted fir.
There are all-occasion greeting cards and cranberry essential oil candles.
“We do gift baskets,” Johnson said. The baskets are custom made.
