An unknown suspect broke into and burgled the residence of a victim of the Nov. 17 shootings on Hyman Avenue last week.
Sometime between 7 a.m. Nov. 17 — 30 minutes before Colby Jamall Wilson allegedly shot Dontae Jerrell Fordham — and 11 a.m. Thursday, someone broke into Fordham’s residence in the 800 block of Dixon Street.
According to a Kinston Department of Public Safety report, items stolen included $255 in cash and a PlayStation 3 valued at $100. There was also $100 in damage to a rear entry door.
KDPS spokesman Woody Spencer said thoughts on whether the burglary was related to the shooting in any way would be speculation at this point.
