Investigators are searching for a man accused of kidnapping and throwing his girlfriend from a car.
According to the Kinston Department of Public Safety, officers reported to an apartment at Mitchell Wooten Courts at about 9:37 p.m. Friday to reports of a disturbance.
Witnesses told the officers a woman and her boyfriend, Robert Lewis Etheridge were in an argument and Etheridge drove away with the victim “dangling from the vehicle.”
After a report of a pedestrian struck by a car, officers found the victim in the road on Mewborn Avenue with visible injuries.
She said Etheridge forced her in the car against her will and threw her out of the car once they reached Mewborn Avenue. She was taken to Lenoir Memorial Hospital for treatment.
Officers are looking for Etheridge – who is from Henderson – and last seen in a white Buick Regal. He’s charged with first-degree kidnapping and assault with a deadly weapon inflicting serious injury.
