A man accused of breaking into a dwelling and menacing one its residents also allegedly took the victim’s terrier.
“Officers were told by (one of the victims) that a male subject – she knows only by his name ‘Al’ – damaged the property and left with a small dog,” said Woody Spencer, spokesman for the Kinston Department of Public Safety. “She said he threw a concrete block and piece of wood through windows, then came inside and pushed her and took the small dog.”
The incident happened at about 4:10 p.m. Friday in the 900 block of West Highland Avenue.
There was $300 in damage to windows and screens and the dog was valued at $100.
The dog was later returned, but officers are still looking for the man suspected of committing the crime.
