A man shot on Thanksgiving survived getting hit but reportedly wouldn’t give up much information to police.
“The victim … told officers while he was in front of 353 S. Adkin St. an unknown suspect shot him in the upper left leg with an unknown caliber firearm,” said Woody Spencer, spokesman for the Kinston Department of Public Safety. “He said he does not know who shot him. So, basically we’re not getting any cooperation.”
The shooting happened around 11:35 a.m.
Spencer added, “And if he doesn’t cooperate, there’s not a daggone thing we can do – very frustrating. But, if someone shoots me, and I know who he is, I’m going to tell somebody who shot me.”
The KDPS incident report, however, does list a suspect described at a 26-year-old black male, though information provided doesn’t make clear who the suspect may or may not be.
