Thieves nabbed a number of auto parts worth thousands of dollars left outside a local business.
Four used transmissions and six golf cart batteries were taken from Auto Xtreme – in the 400 block of North Herritage Street – between 7 p.m. Nov. 26 and 9 a.m. Nov. 27.
“Basically, a representative of the store told officers that unknown suspects stole the used transmissions and golf cart batteries – they left them outside the side of the building,” said Woody Spencer, spokesman for the Kinston Department of Public Safety. “And, when he got to work that morning, he noticed they were missing.”
The transmissions were worth $3,000 and the batteries totaled $60.
