Snow Hill felon arrested on 23 charges

SNOW HILL – Arrest warrants began piling up for Tarik Kunta Wade starting in June.

That ended with an arrest by Greene County Sheriff’s Office deputies.

According to a sheriff’s report, deputies conducted a traffic stop around 1 p.m. Nov. 25, and Wade, 31, bailed from his vehicle, attempting to avoid capture. Authorities caught up with him in the area of Third Street and Southeast Oak Street.

He had 23 warrants out for his arrest, issued in seven groups between June 24 and Nov. 5

The first warrant was for an alleged felony assault with a deadly weapon inflicting serious injury in Lenoir County.

The next two groups came from Pitt County. On July 11, warrants were issued for charges of felony possession with intent to sell and deliver marijuana, driving while license revoked, resisting a public officer and possession of drug paraphernalia.

Wade picked up charges of driving while intoxicated and speeding a week later.

All other warrants come from alleged Greene County crimes. He received charges including a probation violation out of the county on July 23, and simple assault, driving while license revoked, failure to wear a seat belt two days later.

July 29 warrants were issued for two driving while license revoked charges, driving while intoxicated, speeding, operating a vehicle without insurance and a probation violation out of the county.

The final group of charges from Nov. 5 include assault inflicting serious bodily injury, possession of cocaine, possession with intent to sell and deliver a Schedule II controlled substance, possession with intent to manufacture, sell and deliver a Schedule VI controlled substance, maintaining a place for controlled substances and possession of a firearm by a felon – all felonies.

Wade was placed into the Greene County Jail under a $208,000 bond.

For his alleged acts, Wade is due in Pitt County District Court on Thursday, Greene County Superior Court for four of the July 29 charges Dec. 16, Greene County District Court for the July 25 and Nov. 5 charges – including the two out-of-county probation violations – Dec. 20. He’s scheduled to be in Lenoir County District Court on Jan. 22 of next year.
