Thousands in electronics stolen

A woman returned home Tuesday night to find someone allegedly burgled her home and left with thousands of dollars in electronics.

The incident occurred in the 1200 block of North Queen Street.

“(The victim) reported that sometime between 11 a.m. and 7 p.m., somebody kicked in the back door of her residence,” said Woody Spencer, spokesman for the Kinston Department of Public Safety.

Stolen were a $2,000 MacBook, a $700 camcorder, two Xboxes valued at $600, a $200 Wii, a $200 ring, three video game controllers valued at $150, a $35 Converse backpack and $25 in camera equipment.

Damage to the door and its frame totaled $1,000.

Police currently have no suspects.
