Superior court decisions

The following decisions were reached in Lenoir County superior court in June, 2012. The presiding judge was the Hon. Marvin Blount. Matters may be resolved as the result of a guilty plea or dismissal negotiated with the district attorney without a trial. Matters may also be resolved as the result of a trial during which the judge dismisses the case for insufficient evidence or renders a verdict of innocence or guilt. In any case in which a guilty plea or verdict is entered, sentencing is determined by the judge:
 
Marcus NMN Parker, two counts flee to elude, guilty, sentenced to 30-45 days in the Department of Correction. Assault with deadly weapon with intent to inflict serious injury, guilty, sentenced to 10-12 months in the Department of Correction, suspended to 36 months supervised probation.
 
Steven Small, driving while impaired, guilty, sentenced to 18 months in the Department of Correction, serve 30 days active, suspended to 24 months supervised probation.
 
Bryan NMN Moore, habitual driving while impaired, guilty, sentenced to 13-16 months in the Department of Correction, suspended to 24 months supervised probation.
 
Craig NMN Richardson, simple assault, guilty, sentenced to 60 days in the Lenoir County jail, suspended to 18 months supervised probation.
 
Braelyn Blount, assault on a female, issued prayer for judgement.
 
Kentrille Williams, fail to notify DMV of address change, guilty, sentenced to 30 days in the Lenoir County jail, suspended to 12 months supervised probation.
 
Stewart Gumby, simple assault, guilty, sentenced to 15 days in the Lenoir County jail, suspended to 12 months supervised probation.
 
Guadalupe Aguilera, driving while impaired (level 4), pleaded no contest, sentenced to 120 days in the Department of Correction, suspended to 24 months supervised probation.
 
Michael Armentrout, simple assault, pleaded no contest, sentenced to 45 days in the Lenoir County jail, suspended to 18 months supervised probation.
 
Walter Whiterspoon Jr., resist public officer, not guilty.
 
Pamela NMN Wade, possess schedule II (cocaine), guilty, sentenced to 90-96 months in the Department of Correction, suspended to 12 months supervised probation.

Brandy NMN Kelly, assault on a female, guilty, sentenced to 75 days in the Lenoir County jail, suspended to six months supervised probation. Communicating threat, guilty, sentenced to 45 days in the Lenoir County jail, suspended to six months supervised probation.
 
Devon Gooding, two counts child abuse, guilty, sentenced to 78-103 months in the Department of Correction.
 
Shalandra Perry, ten counts obtain property by false pretense, guilty, sentenced to 6-8 months in the Department of Correction (each count), suspended to 36 months supervised probation.
 
Corrionte Turnage, carrying concealed weapon, pleaded no contest, sentenced to 45 days in the Lenoir County jail. Possess marijuana > 1/2 ounce, pleaded no contest, sentenced to 15 days in the Lenoir County jail.
 
Devontae Montgomery, shoot into occupied dwelling, guilty, sentenced to 70-93 months in the Department of Correction. Possess firearm by felony, guilty, sentenced to 12-15 months in the Department of Correction.
 
Brian Cantu, possess stolen goods, obtain property by false pretense, guilty, sentenced to 10-12 months in the Department of Correction.
 
Janaloa Green, assault inflicting serious bodily injury, pleaded no contest, sentenced to 13-16 months in the Department of Correction, suspended to 36 months supervised probation.
 
Jonathan Burks, assault inflicting serious injury, guilty, sentenced to 75 days in the Lenoir County jail, suspended to 18 months supervised probation.
 
Jamal NMN Jones, two counts breaking and entering, guilty, sentenced to (consecutive) 6-8 months in the Department of Correction. Possess stolen goods (Greene County case), guilty, sentenced to 6-8 months in the Department of Correction, suspended to 24 months supervised probation.
 
Kim NMN Bethel, communicating threat, guilty, sentenced to nine days in the Lenoir County jail.
