Dr. Rose Pully, a beloved Lenoir County physician and inductee in the Lenoir Memorial Hospital Hall of Honor, died in 2011 after years of significant contribution to private patient practice.
Her family gave the hospital a portrait of Dr. Pully painted by one of her early patients depicting her in her first year of practice. It hangs in the hospital board room.
At a recent ceremony, Kay Harrell, board chairwoman, thanked Dr. Pully’s baby brother, Pete Pully, for the gift.
He gave remarks that included the story of his sister’s often remembered kindnesses in caring for her patients.
