A second suspect is in custody who was allegedly involved in a Kinston home invasion on Tower Hill Road that led to a robbery and rape.
“That was on the 10th of August, when several black males came in to (the victim’s) apartment, robbed him — took his phone — and one of them raped him,” Kinston Department of Public Safety spokesman Woody Spencer said. “This is another person involved in that, who has been arrested.”
Ed Harris, 17, was arrested Monday at 11 a.m. in the 100 block of South Adkin Street. He’s charged with first-degree kidnapping, first-degree robbery with a dangerous weapon and accessory after the fact — all felonies.
Police first arrested Keshawn Heard, 20, shortly after 2 p.m. on Aug. 10 on charges of first-degree robbery with a dangerous weapon, first-degree kidnapping and first-degree forcible sex offense.
Heard previously served from Nov. 16, 2011 to July 31 of this year for breaking and entering and larceny convictions from January 2010.
He was placed into the Lenoir County Detention Center on a $500,000 bond and is due in Lenoir County District Court on Monday.
Harris received a $150,000 bond and is scheduled to appear in Lenoir County District Court on Sept. 4.
